*for the record, I’m still batting about .400 lifetime which would be HOF-level in baseball.
Well, I know many of you will miss the incessant ads that’ve filled the airwaves but hopefully all of that goes away, at least for a while, as long as the Good Lord lets Herschel win outright (which I think he does, but…).
So, here’s how my ballot looked:
GOV: Kemp
Senate: Herschel (GO DAWGS!)
All other statewide constitutional offices I voted Libertarian if they were on the ballot & I skipped the two in which they weren’t
Locally, I voted for the Democrats in both State House 114 (F’ Tim Fleming) & SD 17
Skipped any races where there was no challenger with the natural exception of my awesome Newton Co. BOE Rep - Ms Abigail Morgan Coggins
Skipped everything else — my time’s too valuable
In terms of predictions, based on the polling data you’ve got to figure that Kemp wins by at least 10 percentage points which is an absolute butt whippin’ for the top statewide race.
I do think that Herschel wins w/out a runoff (again, please sweet Jesus). Thinking of a 51/47/2 R to D to L.
Nationally, it is looking like a very strong red wave (not quite a tsunami). I’m thinking there’s going to be too many hijinks in both Penn & AZ for the GOP to win. What I’m saying is they’re going to steal those two elections. So, a 52/48 Republican balance of power for the Senate. Hey, we’ll take it. House will be big. Maybe a net advantage of 50 seats for Team Red. As Elon recently said - and as I’ve always said - a divided government is a good thing.
As for the future, Donald Trump needs to move on. He’s too old. Too arrogant. Too undisciplined. DeSantis has GOT to be the guy.
Okay for now, buckaroos. Until next time.
