So perhaps a post that may get me in a little bit of trouble, but that’s never stopped me before.
Why Start Now?
JC Henderson
Well, character issues aside (of which naturally there are many), apparently he’s mean as a snake & allegedly a racist, too.
What an asshole.
Based on my analysis & understanding, he runs the 4th District in a manner that would’ve made Tammany Hall proud circa 1874.
It’s that peculiar dynamic of power, isn’t it?
How some can & will willfully wield it, and how so many more, unfortunately, will either simply abide by it or just capitulate to it.
After last fall’s election he purportedly told several different persons something to the effect of this:
“I run this county now.”
Not so sure on that (more later), but let’s run down his latest antics.
- He was solely responsible for the loss of a gift of a tract of land by a private property owner to the home county that was going to greatly help a local park because — of course he did. He’s JC Henderson.
- He has thrice now tried to interpose caustic, former county attorney Wm Thomas Craig (WTC) into the affairs & finances of the home county. All three attempts have been thwarted.
- He was the driving force behind the bungled in-house county attorney situation in which the home county lost out on a most qualified candidate - Ms Megan Martin - and did so in a way that may very well lead to yet another lawsuit heading the county’s way.
- He’s also the driving force for the current state of FUBAR in re the county manager situation (and pretty much everything else w/ the home county).
There’s a few more but my now my head hurts.
Play stupid games & win stupid prizes.
However, I will say this — seemingly he does NOT run the home county as he’s lost multiple votes over the last several months, notably the budget, as well as his multiple failures w/ getting WTC back in the mix.
Alana Sanders
No commentary necessary; she’s apparently the ying to JC’s yang.

There is a wildcard, however. BOC 2 Rep Demond Mason. Can’t draw a bead on him, though. I just know he’s probably the key to things going whichever way they go moving forward.
I remain guardedly & cautiously optimistic. As the old folks would say — it’s always darkest before dawn.
