My Substack site has earnestly reached its third week & I couldn’t be more excited.
The big thing for me is the fact that over half of the readership is coming from direct email delivery. Again, that was the main reason why I made this decision — basically preparing for a post-social media (FB mainly) world.
If you still have doubts about the scruples of “Big Tech” after the last 20 months, then, well, I don’t know what to tell you other than maybe, bless your heart.
While the overall traffic here is way less than The Piedmont Chronicles’, I really don’t care. For one thing, a good bit of the TPC traffic has always been bots & B.S.; also, it’s hosted by The Google, a company which is second only to the book of faces in terms of being bad in my opinion.
That’s not to say that I don’t want folks still checking out The Chronicles. The content there is going to be really good moving forward (it already is compliments of Da), it’s just not going to be politically based. I’ll save that for right here.
But again, just in case you didn’t get the memo — entities like FB, the Twits, Googs et al are NOT your friends. In fact, in many ways, they really are your enemy.
If you don’t know, now you know.
I’ve got several things in the pipeline & a few good pieces coming down the pike.
As always, I greatly appreciate you reading.
Best,
MB McCart
